SDS hammer drills are effective power tools for drilling through concrete, brick, masonry, and other hard materials. They are more powerful than standard rotary drills, and they provide a more efficient hammering action than standard hammer drills. SDS drill bits feature special indents that allow them to move backwards and forwards inside the chuck, propelled by a piston-like mechanism within the chuck. The hammer action is directed more precisely and efficiently for faster drilling. These light duty SDS hammer drills are compact, light, and easy to handle. They are perfect for all kinds of work, such as DIY at home, and professional work on site.
These combination hammer drills are fitted with an SDS plus chuck as standard, with an optional 13mm 3 jaw chuck adaptor available as an accessory. The 3 jaw chuck allows the SDS drill to be used as a standard rotary drill with standard drill bits. The hammering action must be switched off for this. Adapting the combination drill to use standard drill bits makes it ideal for drilling jobs softer materials, such as wood, plastic, and light metal.
When using this drill, ensure you are wearing appropriate protective equipment. We can supply Personal Protection Packs which include safety goggles, safety gloves, a dust mask and earplugs. You can add these to your order during checkout.
Book a light duty SDS drill hire online or over the phone and collect it from your local store at the start of the hire, or we can deliver to you. We can supply a range of SDS+ drill bits along with the drill. These bits are available in a variety of sizes, and they have solid carbide tips with centring points and optimised flutes. They offer fast drilling speeds, and they are suitable for masonry and concrete.
Please note: This SDS drill is a 110v piece of equipment. You can add a transformer and extension lead to your order during checkout if required.

From 1st April 2022, our suppliers will only fuel machines with white diesel. This is due to new government guidelines.
If you, as the hirer, refuel any equipment while it is in your possession, it must be with WHITE DIESEL.
YOU MUST NOT USE RED DIESEL IN HIRED MACHINES OR EQUIPMENT.
If you return a machine refuelled with rebated diesel, suppliers will have to remove and dispose of the fuel. They must also flush the tank and supply lines before they can refuel them. The process is chargeable, with no exceptions.
An insurance charge will be calculated at checkout. If you have proof of your own Hired-In Plant Insurance (HIPI) and wish to opt-out of the insurance charge, you can do so by booking via Live Chat.
