These drain rods are ideal for clearing blockages from fairly straight, short-to-medium drainpipes. In this set are 10 x 1m drain rods. Simply screwed together in a clockwise motion, you can quickly achieve the appropriate length needed for your blockage. To use the rods, screw them together and push the rods through the pipe, steadily turning them clockwise to avoid them unscrewing whilst you push them in, until you can feel the blockage. Then use the rods to break through the blockage and loosen it. To remove the rods, continue turning them clockwise as you pull them back out of the drain. Follow this up with plenty of water to wash through any residue. Whilst clearing blockages or cleaning a drain, you should always wear PVC gloves, eye protection and overalls - as unblocking drains can be a messy business. There is also a chance of picking up an illness from drain waste. Never put your hands into the drain, to prevent the risk of becoming stuck or hurting yourself on something hidden within. Remember, prevention is always better than cure, so take care when flushing objects down plug holes and toilets. It is also advisable to regularly clear leaves and other foliage from outside drains, covering the entrance in mesh or netting to prevent a blockage developing inside the pipe.
We supply these drain cleaning rods with a worm, 100mm plunger and 100mm scraper. You can add a clearing wheel, 150mm plunger, drain brush and chimney sweep brush to your order during checkout.

This was great, and works so well!! Within half an hour of our hire arriving it was being used! We were in the middle of trying to empty our cess pit and discovered a blockage so are very happy to say that we are very impressed!

From 1st April 2022, our suppliers will only fuel machines with white diesel. This is due to new government guidelines.
If you, as the hirer, refuel any equipment while it is in your possession, it must be with WHITE DIESEL.
YOU MUST NOT USE RED DIESEL IN HIRED MACHINES OR EQUIPMENT.
If you return a machine refuelled with rebated diesel, suppliers will have to remove and dispose of the fuel. They must also flush the tank and supply lines before they can refuel them. The process is chargeable, with no exceptions.
An insurance charge will be calculated at checkout. If you have proof of your own Hired-In Plant Insurance (HIPI) and wish to opt-out of the insurance charge, you can do so by booking via Live Chat.
