These SDS Max combination hammer drills are handy and versatile power tools. They are capable of carrying out a range of drilling and breaking jobs onsite and at home. They can operate both demolition hammers for breaking up concrete, brick, and other tough materials. They can also be used as SDS drills, for drilling up to 40mm in concrete. These combi hammer drills feature ActiveTorque control can detect excessive movement in the machine and disengage the drive, to prevent the risk of injury if the drill suddenly snags on an object. Despite their heavy-duty capabilities, these hammer drills are very lightweight, at just 6.8kg. They also feature Makita's AVT (Anti-Vibration-Technology), which offers reduced vibration during chipping. This means that they are easy to handle and manoeuvre during use. These SDS rotary hammer drills also feature an electronic speed control system, carbon brushes, soft start, and a one touch sliding chuck for quick and easy bit insertion and removal.

I hired this cordless hammer drill, to utilise my Bosch 4amp batteries, from my Impacter and Driver Drill. My house is built with split concret block which is so hard, you just need a drill that’s made of tough stuff.
