Our floor sanders can be used by contractors and DIY users. They give old, scratched and worn wooden floors a new lease of life. These sanding machines quickly and efficiently remove imperfections, stains, paint and varnish from wooden floorboards and leave a clean, perfect finish ready for a new coat of varnish. Our industry standard Hiretech HT8 floor sanding machines are easy to use without any training so that you can achieve a professional finish quickly. For safety and convenience, these units feature an integrated vacuum that vacuums the wood dust produced during sanding and deposits it into a disposable dust collection bag, thus preventing inhalation and minimising mess. You must prepare the room for sanding before using the floor sander - ensure that you remove any obstacles from the room, including furniture and fixtures. Secure any loose floorboards and check for raised nails or screws. Ensure that any raised nails or screws are knocked down beneath the surface of the wooden floorboards before you begin sanding.
We have floor sander hire available nationwide at great rates. You can book a hire on our website using the online booking system, or you can call our friendly hire team to book a hire over the phone. Once you have made a booking, you can collect from your nearest store at the start of the hire, or we can deliver to you. We can also supply the floor sander sheets and dust collection bags for these units. You can add these to your order during the online checkout process, or when ordering over the phone. We recommend using at least 3 of each grit of sanding sheet per room and at least 2 dust bags per room. We can also supply extension leads and Personal Protection Packs. These packs give you the appropriate protective equipment to wear when using a floor sander - safety goggles, safety gloves, dust mask and earplugs.
Please note: We recommend using a Floor Edging Sander along with this machine to get closer to skirting boards and into corners. Using both of these machines together allows you to complete the job properly and achieve the most professional finish. We offer a Floor Sander Hire Package that gives you both sanders together at a reduced rate compared to hiring both separately. Please ensure that the sanding plate that holds down the sanding sheet is fully screwed in before operating the machine. Failure to do so can result in damage to the machine or the floor.

Having never used a floor sander before and getting a lot of expensive quotes to clean up the upstairs floors in my house, I decided to give it a go for myself. It's a bit of graft, but quite rewarding, after getting the hang of things. The sander makes a lot less mess than expected. You will need an edging sander if you want to get in to corners etc. Shame I can't upload a photo, I'm quite proud of the result!

We bought an old house and the previous owner had given us a sander but was useless, ordered one of these and to my surprise it was excellent! Did the job, better in fact! Will definitely re-hire when we decide to renovate the summerhouse in to a bar!
