Our electric lawn scarifiers are designed for use on garden lawns and other small grassy areas. These scarifiers have durable blades which turn over the lawn to rake it and remove moss, thatch, dead grass and other unwanted organic matter from the lawn. They feature an adjustable rake so that you can regulate the working height between 0 and 10mm, to suit the length of the grass. These scarifiers also have a 55 litre collection box for storing all the matter that you remove from your lawn. This large capacity allows you to work for long periods without having to stop regularly.
Once you have scarified your lawn, you can re-seed any bare patches and overseed the entire lawn area to encourage full, vibrant, healthy grass growth throughout your garden. Scarifying your lawn at the start of spring or in the autumn helps to rejuvenate the lawn by pruning the grass, removing unwanted organic matter and encouraging thicker, healthier grass growth.
You can book an electric scarifier hire online through the booking system or over the phone with our Hire Team. Once you have booked a scarifier hire you can collect it from your local store at the start of the hire or we can deliver it to you. We have a range of accessories available. You can hire a 14m extension lead if required, and you can purchase a Personal Protection Pack. These packs include safety goggles, safety gloves, dust mask and earplugs. You can add these to your order during checkout.
Please note: You should only scarify the lawn in ideal conditions, such as early spring or autumn - when the weather is still warm, but there is some rain. As, if you scarify in extreme weather, you could do more harm than good. If you scarify during a period of heavy rain, or extreme conditions like a drought, the lawn will not be able to recover properly and develop into the full, rich texture that you want.

This wasn't as good as the petrol model we hired last year but it was a lot cheaper to hire and still did the job very well. If you have a large area then I would recommend the petrol model, but for small gardens this is absolutely fine.

If you're just looking for a cheap way of scarifying your lawn, this electric scarifier is ideal. It doesnt have the performance of a proper petrol scarifier but the hire rate is really good for a cheap scarifier hire.

The electric scarifier was ideal for scarifying our front lawn, it did a good job just the small bit of grass. It didn't quite have the same results in our back garden, which is pretty large and has more problems with thatch. We probably needed the petrol one for a bit more power in the back.

I have scarified my 300m2 lawn and it works very well - a great piece of kit, robust (for the price and job) and very effective.

This works really well for the money. I have a large lawn and it ripped the that out really well. The collecting basket is a bit small but not a reason to to buy this.

Husband delighted, used the scarifier today and it brought up a load of moss and rubbish, you do have to empty the collection box often but that was to be expected.

From 1st April 2022, our suppliers will only fuel machines with white diesel. This is due to new government guidelines.
If you, as the hirer, refuel any equipment while it is in your possession, it must be with WHITE DIESEL.
YOU MUST NOT USE RED DIESEL IN HIRED MACHINES OR EQUIPMENT.
If you return a machine refuelled with rebated diesel, suppliers will have to remove and dispose of the fuel. They must also flush the tank and supply lines before they can refuel them. The process is chargeable, with no exceptions.
An insurance charge will be calculated at checkout. If you have proof of your own Hired-In Plant Insurance (HIPI) and wish to opt-out of the insurance charge, you can do so by booking via Live Chat.
