I don't know if they are all like this, but the mixer that was delivered was nearly brand-new and wasn't covered in old concrete. I found the tip-stand to be very useful. Overall the price including delivery was incredibly cheap compared to the other hire depots I called.

I'm very happy with the 240v cement mixer I hired. The price was very reasonable for a weekend cement mixer hire and it was a very good quality mixer machine

We booked a week long hire of a concrete mixer for some home DIY patio building and laying some paving slabs. My husband found the mixer to be very useful and the price for the concrete mixer hire was cheaper than we had found elsewhere with delivery to our house.

110v cement mixers are designed for safety on site, and they do require a transformer if you want to use one at home, or using a 230v power supply. You can hire 3kVA transformers from us as an optional extra when you book 110v equipment.
Place the mixer on a firm, level surface. Pour approximately one gallon of water into the drum. Make sure that you use the correct amount of water for the cement mix, as outlined in the instructions. Too much water will make the cement mix too thin and unmanageable. Not enough water will make the concrete too thick and it will not combine thoroughly. Next, pour the cement mix into the drum, plug the mixer in and turn it on. Allow the machine to fully mix the contents and ensure that there is no visible powder left. Leave the cement mixer running for as long as you need it to keep the contents moist and manageable. When the contents are fully mixed, turn the machine off and slowly tilt the drum to pour the fresh cement out.
You can clean a cement mixer thoroughly using a stiff brush or a mix of 1 inch (2½cm) gravel and water. This clears the drum out to prevent any residue from hardening inside it.
You can use a range of different concrete and mortar mixes for all different jobs. General purpose concrete is made up of 1 part cement, 2 parts sand, and 3 parts coarse aggregate. This concrete is suitable for most purposes, but not for foundations or paving. Standard mortar is made up of 1 part cement, 5 parts soft sand, with 1 part lime or plasticiser optional. This mortar is used for sheltered bricklaying, rendering, and more. These are just 2 standard mixes, and many more proportions can be used for different applications.

From 1st April 2022, our suppliers will only fuel machines with white diesel. This is due to new government guidelines.
If you, as the hirer, refuel any equipment while it is in your possession, it must be with WHITE DIESEL.
YOU MUST NOT USE RED DIESEL IN HIRED MACHINES OR EQUIPMENT.
If you return a machine refuelled with rebated diesel, suppliers will have to remove and dispose of the fuel. They must also flush the tank and supply lines before they can refuel them. The process is chargeable, with no exceptions.
An insurance charge will be calculated at checkout. If you have proof of your own Hired-In Plant Insurance (HIPI) and wish to opt-out of the insurance charge, you can do so by booking via Live Chat.
